...just got off the phone with Scott as I had tons of questions for him about many products sold by Outlaw Audio...Scott patiently answered ALL my questions and I am that much closer to getting my Outlaw stuff!
I may get the 950 Processor, and LFM-1 Sub with the 755 Amp (5.1) as I probably will not use 7.1...any thoughts or comments from you all would be greatly appreciated and thas for being patient with my slow learning curve!
Great place!
Bill

Once you speak to Scott there is no turning back!

Join the Outlaw family....you won't regret it.

When I first got my 1050, the remote had a loose emitter lens that rattled. I posted this on Audioreview at the time, explaining that I even fixed it with a little foam tape wedge. The next thing I new, a new remote showed up in the mail.

Scott read my post and figured out it was me, and sent it to me.......THAT'S SERVICE!!

Hey, Cadboy...Scott sure did answer my questions...You have Ascend Acoustics speakers??? How do you like them...I am closing in on them or Klipsch F-3s or RF-35s I think...
Thanks,
Bill

Yes....I have the CBM-170's and love'em.

That said, my room is 13 x 18 w/ 8' ceiling with two openings to a hall and kitchen. They will play as loud as I need them to with the 1050, which is rated at "only" 65W, 3 channels driven!

A lot of folks who start out with the 170's move to the 340's and relegate the 170's to surround duty. The 340 is said to play "bigger", which makes sense due to the fact that it's larger and uses two of the same woofers as the 170. I have never heard them, so I am reporting what I have read on the Ascend forum(which is currently down, but should be back up soon). I have never felt the 170's were lacking. I replaced a pair of B&W 602's w/them and never looked back!

BTW, I used to have a NAD Preamp/Rotel Amp setup before deciding to go multi-channel Dolby Digital/DTS. I went from that to a Marantz receiver, and from the Marantz to Outlaw 1050. The Outlaw brought the musical quality of those seperates back into my system. The 1070 will most likely improve that quality while offering the latest decoding and switching features.

Depending on your location, you could probably setup an audition with an owner of Ascend speakers.

I'm another happy Outlaw running Ascend speakers. Talk about bang for the buck!! I'm using 340's up front powered by 3 M-200's and 170's for surround duty powered by my Yamaha HTR-5790, with the HSU VTF-3MkII sub. I've yet to have a guest who didn't walk away with a smile.

silversport, I have the 950 mated to a Parasound amp with Klipsch RF-35's and love it completely! All of the components compliment each other and produce a great sound.
