Presently I own a model 7075/970. I was considering bypassing the front 3 channels on the 7075 and using 3 monoblocks for them instead. Would bypassing the 3 channels (or rather not using them ) do any damage or anything like that to the 7075? I have this theory that I may get a better front soundstage using amps with more reserve than the 7075. It is not that I am unhappy with the 7075 (it works very well and I have no complaints with it). I have this very common condition that causes me to think about upgrading. Fortunately, I am not interested in any pills or tx for it. Thank you to those with any insight to my condition or my questions regarding the bypass ideas.

A bit more seriously, it would cause no harm whatsoever to have only four channels connected and leave the the 7075's other three channels idle.

I think more people do that than you would think.
I don't use 2 channels from my 7125 and instead use a Carver m1.5t to drive my front speakers.

An idea that I have been kicking around, and that you might like if the upgraditis bug hits you, is to use the extra channels for a second zone. But, like gonk said, nothing wrong with leaving them unused.

You mentioned that you have a 7125. What could I expect if I cured myself (temporarily anyways) with a larger amp? 7075 vs. 7125 or use a 7500 for the 5 channels and just use 2 channels on the 7075 for rear surrounds? I guess what I am looking for is a larger soundstage. I am currently using axiom 80s for the front. I am guessing that using a 7125 or 7500 would provide me with more headroom. The other option was to buy an ATI 1803 for the front. Any thoughts would be appreciated. My room is L shaped with the length being 36' and the L part being 22' wide. I sit in a seating area of 14' x 12' with the front 3 speakers, and spread the surround channels lenghways at 14' and 36 feet. It is a multipurpose room, TV/exercise.
