ok..after MUCH experimentation, and really needing to add the Harmony Remote to the system so the wife doesn't staple 4 remotes to my head..I've come up with this:

HDMI out of DVD and Cable box DIRECTLY to the TV.
Digital Audio out of both units to the 1070 (DVD input and Input 2).

then..I tried component out of both units tothe 1070 as well, and Component out of 1070 to TV ( which will stay connected for future XBOX 360)..and, what I'd hoped would be for OSD display.

HOWEVER...that didn't work. I could get OSD to show up when I first hit the 'menu' button, but as soon as I tried to configure it, it would switch to the actual Component Input signal, depending on what I was trying to adjust, and the OSD would go away.

the only solution I found was to NOT have component from the DVD/Cable boxes plugged in, but TO have S-Video from those units plugged in.

WHY? shouldn't the OSD have stayed on with the component setup?

Now..I'm planning on watching the HDMI signals directly via the inputs on the TV (and, I was able to complete the setup/configuration process in the manual)...But, now, if I want to tweak anything, I just have to switch the TV input to the SVID input, and the 1070 OSD appears.

yes..I did try the HDMI to DVI from the boxes to the 1070, and it worked just fine (obviously no OSD), and..depending on the Harmony setup, might go back to that.

of course..I'm open to any suggestions wink

and..are there any plans to have the OSD show up on the DVI outs???
