Greetings all, I'm new to this forum but not to Home Audio. My first question is I'm about to order a amplifier fot my H/T room downstairs but not sure if the 7125 will do the job or should I order the new 7200 (which I haven't even seen any pictures of yet). As noted in my signature, I will be using the Denon 3805 as my pre/pro due to the fact that I really like the interface of the Denons just not happy with the amplification of a H/T receiver. My H/T room is roughly 14'x22' and has been sound proofed to the best of my knowledge. Will the 7125 have enough guts to really open up my H/T room. I'll attach a link to my H/T room to hopefully give you guys a better idea of what I'm working with as far as my room goes. As far as the 7200 goes, does anyone have any specs. on the amp as far as size goes. The a/v stand I built has a area of 19"x10"x22" (WxHxD) where the amp will find its final resting place and I'm just curious if I decided to go with the 7200, will I have to build another stand? I started to ask which Polk RTi's you have, but then I looked in your link and saw the specific models listed. That's a great looking room!

Polk's larger speakers have developed a reputation for needing a lot of power. The LSi-15 and LSi-25 are the most problematic in this regard (others have reported needing 200W to really make them happy). The RTi's aren't as difficult in this regard (at 8ohms and 90dB efficient your RTi70 is similar to the current RTi12), but I do find myself thinking that the 7200 might be a safer choice for them.

I believe that the Model 7200 uses the same basic chassis as the 7500 and 7700 - it may not be as deep, but the width and height for Outlaw's big multichannel amps (750, 755, 770, and now the 7500 and 7700) have been pretty constant. Based on that, figure on 17" wide, 7.75" tall, and potentially 18" deep. For your rack, that leaves 2.25" of breathing room above the amp and four inches in back for wiring. I would feel pretty comfortable tucking a 7200 into that space.

Gonk, do you have any idea of when the 7200 can be ordered. And just say I decided to go with the 7125, would there be a difference as far as power goes over using the receiver to power the speakers. Don't get me wrong, the room is plenty loud now I just know there is the potential improvement there. The only one thing I wished the 7125 had, a removable power cord so it could be upgraded. Granted, I'm sure the 7200 has this option but the 7125 will be a easier sell to the wife then the 7200 as far as price goes.

Give Outlaw a call. I've gotten the impression from their announcements that you can order a 7200 now, even though it's not on the order form yet.

Moving from receiver power to a separate amp generally gives a sonic benefit even if the rated power doesn't change. Larger power supplies and more capacity in components like capacitors generally give separate amps more headroom to deal with rapid fluctuations - the result can be heard as a smoother or clearer sound. If the budget won't allow a 7200, you could still give the 7125 a 30-day trial.
