When hooking up the 990/7125 w/Outlaw PCA's should the directional arrows go toward the pre or toward the amp. Also when hooking up a SACD player to the 990 did anyone have issues with the 7.1 rca inputs. Some go in fine an others I can barely attach(they are not locking cables)

I think the arrows are supposed to point in the direction that the signal will go like from the 990 to the 7125 and the sacd player to the 990 etc , thats how I have mine and it seems to work also ,you have to loosen the barrel ends a little bit and they go on easier hope I helped.

Loopy's got it - the arrows should go from 990 to 7125 or from SACD player to 990. I assume you mean that you've got cables other than the PCA's on the 7.1 input since you say they're not locking - the PCA's are locking. I've never noticed anything unusually tight about hooking cables to the 990's inputs.

I have noticed that the red RCA connectors on the 990 are a little more snug then the white. I thought it was the cable at first but all cables I’ve tried do the same thing. I’ve seen cables with the arrows on them but directional cables don’t make sense to me. The audio signal is moving in both directions. At any time the electrons are moving in one direction or the other to create the analog signal. They don’t just move in one direction like DC current would.

In some cases, the arrows are bogus, but there is actually a reason for the arrows in other cases (including the PCA's): the shield is connected at the source end. There were a couple discussions of it in the past (click here and here for a trip back to 2003).

Regarding Outlaw PCA's. They look great and provide great sound. I ordered the 7 pack so I has 2 left over...Good Thing...When I initially set up the amp all the channels were fine except for the surround left so I double checked the wiring and made sure that the pca's were connected properly..well after trying for about a half hour I just took one of the 2 pca's I didn't use to see if that was the issue. Turns out that was it...just hapenned to get a bad pca. Better that than having to thesend 990 or 7125 back.
