Ive been hearing fiqures on cotrast ratios that have me mixed up. They say the set has a dynamic contrast ratio of 25,000 to 1 Yet, its native contrast ratio may only be 1000 to 1 Whats the difference between them? Also, are LCD tv sets effected by unshielded audio speakers the way CRT used to be? Thanks

Dynamic contrast ratios can be a bit tricky to understand, and the general impression I've gotten from reviews is that those figures usually are a "best case scenario" condition. In many cases, these figures are provided in an effort to quantify the benefits of options such as local dimming (when LCD displays use LED backlights and are able to dim or turn off portions of the backlighting). The native contrast ratio relates specifically to the LCD panel's contrast ratio without such considerations.

LCD screens are not affected by magnets, so unshielded speakers are not a concern.
