OK, here's a question for all of you. I received numerous opinions on this, but personally I think I will get the proper info from all of you on this.

I own the DVD Essentials DVD and have used it to calibrate my video and audio system numerous times. However, I've heard that when you want to use the SPL meter its best to use the pink noise feature built into the Pre/Pro rather than then the pink noise generated from the DVD player playing the disc to get a true calibration. Which is best to use? Do I use the SPL on the noise generated from the disc through my DVD player or should I use the SPL based upon the test signal generated from the 990?

All opinions are gladly welcome and appreciated.

On a side note, just so everyone knows the varying opinions I've received...

Some have said that the DVD player's test signal generated from the DVD is best because that is the source that creates the soundtrack for the movies I watch.

On the other side of the fence, others have said that the noise signal generated from the 990's own test signal is best becuase that is the unit that decodes the DVD's audio signal. Therefore, that signal is the optimal source to calibrate my system.
