Per RAF's recent upgrade comments, what is the configuration he talks about regarding satellite signal acquisition delay, which he found irritating at best.

Assuming a satellite STB (which I do not yet have)connects video to the monitor via S-Video OR Component, and the audio coax goes to the pre/pro, can someone outline the Dish or Direct signal "problem" with the 950?

I'm now using an Anthem MCA-5 amp, and really shrink at getting an Anthem AVM-20 for personal KISS reasons.

The issue is that the 950 takes a few seconds to lock onto a digital audio signal. So when you're flipping through stations on a satellite receiver, you see the picture immediately, but don't have audio for a few seconds, 2-4 I would say.

I think its also, a bit interactive with your brand of choice STB. There is a delay (and I can surf bigtime so I see it all the time) but I've become used to it and never notice. When I brought home a new HD200 to try out, it was odd, the menu change and even partially the lock-on time for channels was lighting fast as compared to my old DTC100. I expected to see the visual up even longer before I heard my audio but did not. The 950 while still displaying a lag, did not extend its lag time as I expected after seeing the aquistion time speed up, so it appeared the faster Sony HD200 sent the audio signal to the 950 a hair faster also. It killed me to give up the menu speed increase and improvement in PQ and UI, but the thing kept freezing up on me so I'm back to the DTC100 trying to be patient, looking forward to the next batch of HDSTB's to give a demo.
