Can anybody comment on the musical tonality of the 1050? Altho I'm shopping for a HT unit I still listen to lots of music ranging from classical to jazz and pop. I originally had Luxman equipment from the 70's, and later went to early NAD stuff. Both brands offered a very natural, open sound that was free, as near as I could tell, of any coloration or harshness. From what I've read the 1050 is also a high quality unity but I'd appreciate any music listeners comments about this. Thanks.

I find it VERY clean. I use mine more for music than HT and was AMAZED at how much of a difference it made for my old Advent LoudSpeakers. Although granted I had a piece of junk unit before...

I do not detect any harshness. It is clean and crisp.

Truly marvelous.

I have a 1050, and I love it. I had a Harmon-Karden that I swapped out for it.

I listen mostly to Jazz and Classical, and I believe that the 1050 has about the cleanest sound that I have heard.

I had a NAD just prior to my 1050 and the 1050 for music sounds ever bit as good as the NAD if not better.

I find myself listening to my CDs as if I'm hearing them for the first time again. It has a very open and spacious quality to it.

I just bought a 1050 this weekend to replace my Fosgate Model 3A and a B&K 6-channel amp which cost me about $3,500 in 1994. I intended this purchase to be an interim fix until I could afford the B&K receiver, but I am so impressed with the 1050, I will probably buy the Outlaw pre amp and 5-channel amp.

I listen to a lot of music in 2-channel. The 1505 sounds cleaner than my old system with more detail and articulation. There is ever so slightly less focus in the soundstage and not as much punch in some of the transients (difference between 65 watts and 125 watts), but the sound is so sweet and detailed, and for 1/6th the price of my old system, I wouldn't' go back, and I am no in no real hurry now to upgrade.

I think you will be very happy listening to 2-channel stereo music on the Outlaw.

Hey Ken,
I notice here you mention about replacing your high cost receiver with the 1050 and being totally happy. I just replaced my bottom of the line Sony with the 1050 and I don't seem to have as much of a punch in bass anymore. I've set all the settings and it just doesn't have it like the old 50w x2. Got a email in to Outlaw, hoping for the best.

Jeff
