I rec'd my new 1050 this week. When I connect my Perpetual Technologies P-3A DAC to the 5.1 channel audio input, I can hear the radio in the background during soft passages in music.

This can not be normal for this receiver. Help!

BTW, this radio "bleed through" does not happen if I connect my DAC to the the normal CD input...

This is strange. I leave a voice mail at Oulaw Audio 2/2/02, around 11:00 am, concerning this problem. I send an email to Outlaw Audio 2/2/02, around 1:00 pm, concerning this problem. I post in this forum 2/2/02, around 11:59 pm, concerning this problem.

I received confirmation that Outlaw Audio read my email concerning this problem 2/3/02, around 11:00 am. I did not, however, receive a reply of any sort. Also, no user or moderator replied here...

Have I offended anybody with my plea for help?

Hang in there, L.O. Little. The Outlaws don't typically reply to questions directly on the forum, and I suspect that the tech support people didn't have a chance to find an answer to your e-mail or voice mail yet. They'll be arriving at their offices shortly, though, so you should hear something today.

Most of the discussion and debate around here is by the end users, and I think you may have stumped us with that problem (I haven't heard of it before, at least...).

Like Gonk, I've never read a report of this type of "issue". And I've been involved with the Outlaw 1050 and the various online forums since early 2000.

Also, Outlaw Audio is still running on a pretty small office crew and therefore there's usually no one in the offices on the weekend. I strongly suspect that you'll be hearing from them this morning however. Hang in there. It'll be worth it, I honestly believe that.

Trust me, if Outlaw can put up with me for nearly two years and still be willing to answer the phone when they see my number on their caller ID ... there's nothing you could have done to offend them! If you don't believe me, just ask Scott when you hear from him!

I think I read somewhere of a similar problem occuring w/ the 1050 - but only when switching to 5.1 direct while in the tuner mode. Try starting from a "dead" source like CD or DVD and then switching on the direct mode. Good luck!

LO, Sorry I didn't check the site this weekend, but I had the same problem when I used a DVD player with 5.1 inputs for a little while. Exactly as Cadboy mentioned, if you go from an input with nothing connected (i.e. video 3, aux or something like that), there is no bleed through. It actually happens with any source that is active before the switch to 5.1 analog.

I just verified it again, just to be sure, but as Cadboy said, use a dead input prior to switching to 5.1 analog and all is well.
