Hi guys,

I'd like to set up a new system for my parents using an RR2150 with a Mac mini as a music server. Is anyone here using the 2150 with USB as the source? If so, how is it working out?

Thanks.

Not that it helps much, I've got my Outlaw 990 connected to my PC using the USB connection and it works just peachy.

Puts out good sound even from Yahoo's Launchcast streamed music service.

I've been using mine with a G5 iMac and G4 Powerbook with no difficulties. The Macs recognize the RR2150 as a USB sound output device (Sys Prefs -> Sound), so it's all plug and play.

tried a (slightly used) external DAC (from a highly recognizable and reputable firm) in comparison to the outlaw rr2150 USB port. after a few minutes back and forth, I had to conclude that an external DAC is not worth buying for me - I will stick to the built-in USB port on the amp, which sounds much better (presumably because it means fewer cables are all in all). the external DAC was fine on the headphones in my office, had more detail and more oomph than the little portable headphone amp I also own - but at home, the built-in USB port on the outlaw rr2150 performs really well!
