Hey all,

I have a 2150 that I used mostly for music and I'd like to add a subs to fill in the frequencies from 60hz on down. My mains speakers are Kef 104/2's that really only go down to 55-60hz, but the mids and highs are really nice, so I'm reluctant to just buy another pair of floorstanders with greater bass capabilities.

The thing is, I know I can connect one sub to the 2150 easily enough, but how about 2 in STEREO? The only way I can think is to use the speaker level connections, but how about line level? What connection is better anyway for this kind of application? Thanks!

thanks for the link for that detailed article. Just a question though regarding this passage:

"Disconnect the subwoofers from the LFE/Subwoofer output of your preamp. Run an interconnect from the main left and right outputs of the preamp to the "line input" of each subwoofer the left out of the preamp to the left subwoofer, and the right output to the right subwoofer. Run an interconnect from the "line output" of your left subwoofer to the input of your left channel power amplifier. Run the right subwoofers "line output" to the input of your right channel power amplifier."

To apply this logic to the 2150, would I use the Pre-outs and Main-ins jacks as I don't have separates?

Yes, you would use the pre-out and main-in of the RR2150 to accomplish that. You are basically looping the preamp output of the RR2150 through the subwoofer's line level crossover. That crossover is sending back the high pass filtered signal to the input of the RR2150s power amps, while the stereo subwoofer information is being fed to the subwoofers' built in amplifiers.

I'm wondering how this would be accomplished, if your sub only has line-level inputs, and no outputs. confused

You would need something like the discontinued Outlaw ICBM, which might be found on eBay.
