I will be in the market for a great stereo receiver for my bedroom speakers (Energy C6) but one thing I would really like is sleep-timer functionality. A full-on alarm clock feature would be awesome but unreasonable, I know. I'll throw it out there though in case it's doable.

But seriously, just basic sleep timer functionality (i.e. turns itself off in 30, 60, 90 & 120 minute intervals) would be a great function to have on the RR-2150.

Are there any plans to include this?

Many thanks, keep up the great work!

An interesting question, and a good post (helps let Outlaw know what's on their customers' minds). One of the applications that Outlaw expects for the 2150 is offices and other "second systems," where a sleep timer could be useful. One reason to say that it is likely at least under consideration already is the fact that both the 1050 and 950 have included a sleep mode of some sort (with ten-minute intervals from 90min to 10min on the 1050 and options of 60min, 50min, 40min, 30min, 20min, 10min, and 5min on the 950). Time will tell if the 2150 gets something similar and what form it takes.

It would be a killer must have for bedroom apps if it did have full alarm clock functions along with the sleep timer! Can't wait to see if Outlaw thought of, and included that!

Hello Frank Z,

The information announced in the last newsletter and at the Home Entertainment Show in New York City is still current. We plan to be shipping the 2150 by the end of this year. We plan to provide more specific information on its release once we get a little closer.

Best,

Scott

Wow, excellent news Scott!

I know it's too much to hope for, but there wouldn't be an "alarm clock" function would there?

Often I sleep through my dinky alarm clock, and nothing would get me out of bed faster than being shaken awake by my Energy C6s being driven by the RR-2150
