Folks, this is a seriously impressive amplifier here. I just moved to it from a B&K 5 channel amp, and I'll tell you: even though B&K has the reputation for being high end, you guys are the ones who deserve it.

I have to say, though, that when I first unpacked this thing, I thought you folks had played a practical joke on me: I thought maybe you scooped out the innards and replaced them with free-weights or lead ingots or something!

LOL...that heavy huh?

Weight, in the amp business, is a good thing so keep smiling

I'm eagerly awaiting a pair of Model 200 amps. At less then 2" high and being so tiny, 18 lbs. each is respectable as well.

Glad to hear you love the 770. I was originally getting one till I decided to get a pair of 200 monoblocks to run just the mains. So when Im listening to music, only 2 are running. Which leaves me with purchasing the 755 in a couple weeks. I love buying new toys! I hate waiting for them though! I won't sleep till the UPS man arrives(3 more days)!

What's really cool is that it freed up two Marantz MA-500s that I was using to drive the rear channels. I have an MA-700 driving one subwoofer and an MA-500 driving another because of budgetary restrictions.

Well, now that I've freed up the two MA-500s, I've used one to bridge with the subwoofer's MA-500 yielding a whopping 450 watt amplifier for the sub!

And I'm using the other to drive an LFE sub that a friend of mine is building for me.

Man, this amp is so cool!

If the M-200s were stackable up to 7 units high, I'd probably replace my 770. Seriously, it is just too heavy to move around. Once planted, it's PLANTED!

I just got my pair of 200's today and they are a LOT heavier then I expected. I stacked them on the dining room table then moved them to the livingroom. Wow, very solid and heavy.

7 of them would weigh in at close to 135lbs. but I see your point.Moving 1 at a time, or even 2 or 3 is a lot better then lugging a single 770.

I know when I get my 755, it won't be moved around. When it get's parked, it's staying there

Just out of curiosity, why would you replace the 770? I can find no fault in the amp whatsoever other than its lack of balanced inputs.

2 Reasons:

Major: WEIGHT!! it's much easier to move around 7 small amps than this one front-heavy behemoth!

Very minor: I like the auto-on feature of the M-200. Conversely, I wouldn't really like 7 power chords...more rat's nest.

Yeah, I certainly can't argue with you there!

What's that? The 770's got a remote trigger: is what the M-200 has different?
