There's no information yet on the products pages, but there are four new options on the order page for 1-meter, 2-meter, 3-meter, and 5-meter DVI-to-HDMI interconnects (1- and 5-meter listed as coming soon, 2- and 3-meter apparently available now). Prices run from $40 to $90 depending on length. Very interesting. And to think that I just picked up a DVI-to-HDMI cable for dad's new HDTV a week or so ago...

Oh, and while we're on the subject of interesting tidbits from the order page, the "7100 replacement" packages (990/7100, 990/7100/LFM-1, and 990/7100/2xLFM-1) are listed as shipping the end of July.

The 1-meter and 5-meter DVI-HDMI cables now appear to be in stock (the "coming soon" note was removed from the order form when the LFM-2 status changed from "coming soon" to "now in stock" this morning).

Okay. This may be a really stupid question, but why isn't Outlaw selling DVI to DVI or HDMI to HDMI cables?

I would expect that DVI to DVI will be appearing in the near future, and possibly HDMI to HDMI as well, but they aren't available yet for some reason. I'm pretty sure they mentioned a DVI-DVI when the originally announced the DVI-HDMI.

Returning to this thread about new cables (after a day or so without much chance to drop into the saloon), anybody else notice these cables ? smile They don't seem to have made it onto the order form yet, but it would seem likely they are getting close (just in time for the new 2200).

Good deal on DVI-to-DVI cables: currently, Radio Shack is having a close-out on a DVI-to-DVI cable for $12.49 (12 feet). I purchased two pair, that are working well with an Outlaw 990.

I need a 30+ foot digital video cable to run from my rack to the display device. I haven't kept up with the latest standards, but I think I need a 10m or longer DVI-D cable? Or is there a place where I can get wall plates/connectors and fabricate one? The 15m cable I found was $300 .... ouch.

I haven't seen folks fabricating DVI cables, and at any significant length you get up against the rated limits of the interface (making a manufactured cable a safer approach, since you don't have any tolerance for error left). I also haven't seen the parts, for that matter - no wall plates, no loose connectors. Sorry. Here\'s a 10-meter DVI for $110, if it helps. Also, do you know if you will be using DVI or HDMI for the display device? HDMI cables have a much smaller connector, making them easier to pull through conduit.

That reminds me of something I've been mulling over lately... For runs to projectors, even with DVI at both ends it might be easier to use HDMI cables and simply toss in an adapter at either end that has DVI. I can't find a reason why it would not work (although for runs long enough to exceed the DVI standard you may have problems, but that would be true anyway).

Guys,

I need to purchase another dvi to hdmi interconnect. I purchased a 2m Monster interconnect (list price $120, paid $99) at the time I purchased my tv. Outlaw sells a 2m around $60, but I noticed the Monster has a braided metal jacket vs a standard plastic jacket for the Outlaw. Is there any difference?

Aside from the difference in price, I doubt there's any measurable difference between the two cables.
