Please advise as to how you got this to work as I'm having issuse's using the external IR sensor with my RR 2150. I have tried 2 different external IR remote sensor's, with no luck. The manual for the 2150 does not really explain the setup very well.

Thank You

You need one that is dual RF band and is powered, so a connector block is required. Here is what I use with the RR2160:

Instead of using an IR flasher out of the emitter port, you would simply use a stereo mini to stereo mini cable directly to the IR input on the receiver.

That's interesting because the supplied manual makes no mention of any of your supplied information.
But Thank You, it is greatly appreciated.
below is copied right from the RR2150 manual.

RP4: IR (infrared) In/Out Connectors (see page 22)
When your RR 2150 is hidden behind doors that prevent the remote
control from “seeing” the front panel IR sensor, you may connect an
optional, external IR sensor to this 3.5mm mini-plug. To send the IR
signal to another product in a “daisy change” configuration, connect the
IR Out jack to another product with a compatible IR system.
