The only item left to decide is whether to get a 55" or 65" TV and I'm making a mockup to figure out how big a 65" will feel in our family room.

Why can't you get something on sale before the 976 releases? The connections are known so you can tell if a thing is compatible and the price is known so you know what your budget is. If there's a deal on a thing you want on Black Friday or Cyber Monday, I'd get it if I were in your position.

wink just looking for a little hint the 976 is close to being released. And also prepping a list of items to go with it. Gonna be a big update!

Hint: Black Friday is getting close. Should be some sort of announcement then.

The 976 was announced in January for a Spring release. Outlaw has been pretty quiet generally as deadlines and potentially significant dates come and go. I'll grant that going to China sounds good, but given their luck so far, those Chinese factory shut-downs could also have impacted them. So...

Other than eternal optimism, what do yo base your anticipation of an announcement on?

FWIW, I was disappointed to decide instead to move another direction, but now, with the continued delays, I consider it the correct choice for me, primarily because I needed a unit. If you have a set-up you're mostly okay with, I can see waiting longer. But this has been an epic wait thus far.

My 990 died unexpetedly back in last march. Instead of trying to have it fixed, I decided to wait on the 976, since going HDMI would help a lot in my setup. Spring came and went. I usually don't watch a lot of movies in the summertime, so the delay wasn't unbrearable. But now, I do *want* this thing!

Just noticed all but the 976 front panel image links on http://saloon.outlawaudio.com/ubbthreads...an=33#Post96259 are now broken.

Wonder if it was an oversight, or if something's up.

On Edit: it looks like someone renamed the images so the links broke.

I just need to verify, as I'm preparing to order 2 outlaw amps for a 7.2.4 (have the speakers with half of them waiting for something to push them). I was leaning towards the combo deal on the 7703, but would love to get a new 976. However, I would want Atmos. The latest announcement in October was that 976 was beginning production. I am curious if this will have both the single and dual DSP configurations in the first release - or as stated in the original message from January, it will be a separate announcement. Basically the question: if I want an atmos enabled pre-pro before new years - should I get the 7703 or wait for the 976 wink

No offense but this is a joke. I mean what is going on? I have to say I really doubt all of this.

LOL, they posted pics of the 976 and them being boxed on 11/2. What do you doubt?

Maybe once the pre-order goes live everyone will feel more comfortable.
