I am a long time Outlaw convert (Subwoofer, Amp, 990 Preamp), but have recently moved and lost the remote control to my 990 during the move.

I am able to adjust volume and mute from my universal remote, but it doesn't have a selector for 7.1 Direct. I have an Oppo BDP 93 and several DVD Audio and SACD discs I want to play in direct analog 7.1 mode.

Pressing "input" on the front panel let's me cycle through all of the inputs EXCEPT 7.1 Direct.

Is there a workaround to allow me to select 7.1 Direct as my source without using the remote control?

You should be able to go into the OSD and assign the audio input for one of your sources to 7.1
