1.My Aperion 533-pts w/ built in 8in sub sound great but when listening to hip/hop, top 20, and new song releases over my Polk XM XRT-12 receiver it sounds like the songs have way too much bass. Older songs don't sound that bassy. The volume gain on my 533-PT subs sound fine when listening to HT, i could even use a little more bass from my PTs but then the XM Music would sound really bassy. Is it because the way the tracks are recorded?

2. Secondly, in general, do you guys prefer more bass when listening to HT then say you would when doing 2 channel music listening. I find that i like to dial in more bass for my mains when listening to 5.1 HT. I know its preference but how about you guys? do you guys add in a little more bass for HT?

I don't have subs - yet, at least - but I haven't missed bass a whole lot with HT. But my case may not be typical; my speakers go down to 40 Hz, I don't like exaggerated bass, only what's there; and most of my listening is to classical music. If I get sub(s) it would be to get the last octave-and-a-half on pipe organ recordings and to get a better idea of the overall acoustic of the recording venue. Your taste may vary and probably does.

The pedal tones of Bach's D-minor Toccata & Fugue sound great with LFM1+. Also the Glenn Gould recording of Art of the Fugue.
