Kinda loud(?) @ -20. Channel levels using the Parasound 855 across the front as follows:
LR +5 XO input @+6; HP@ -3, LP @ unity,
CC +1
Sur +2
Formerly w/the Rotel RB-985 across the front due it's higher gain:
LR 0 XO input @+6; HP@ -9, LP @ unity,
CC -4
Sur +2
I hope that answers your question Steve.

I never compared output, analogue to digital, etc either w/the1068 or 975. Further, I bought the 975 to, first and foremost, decode the newer Codecs. Add to that how HDMI reduced cable clutter. But... ...if the optical or coax inputs will pass the newer Codecs, I'll deal w/the clutter.

Before I return to work next week I plan to do some intense 2 channel listening, swapping between the 855 & 985. I've read on both the Polk & AVS forums Parasound has the edge over Rotel across the frequency spectrum. Both high current designs w4/ohm ratings. While the 855 gives up a little power, it boasts a higher damping factor.

We shall see.
