I'd like to see digital outputs for at least the main (LR) channels (in addition to analog). I run active crossovers on my main speakers that have digital (and analog) inputs. If I could run a digital signal to the crossover I'd eliminate a full set of A2D and D2A conversions. Thoughts?

Why buy a nice pre/pro with a high quality DAC, then bypass the DAC? To avoid the downfalls of passive crossovers - have you ever heard an active crossover speaker system?

If you want to feed the crossover with a digital signal, you might be better served to do that directly from the source device. You might lose volume control, but you would anyway if feeding digital from the pre-pro.

You might lose volume control, but you would anyway if feeding digital from the pre-pro. Indeed that would be an option, except I switch back and forth between 2.1 channel for music and 5.1 for theater. If I intend to use my preamp for the subwoofer xover (which I need to do if I intend to allow other (surround / center) to also use the sub, then it gets more complex. I might just have to get a switch that I can flip to allow me to direct the input to the sub from either source. hm...

I would like to see Outlaw keep DPL IIX on their new pre/pro, as well as the new Dolby Atmos upmixer. I use DPL IIX for my 2 channel sources, and have read the new Atmos upmixer is terrific for movies but not as good for music. Denon & Marantz don't include DPL IIX on their current Atmos offerings, but I have read it's up to the company getting the license which features of Dolby they want to include. Outlaw - please consider it!
