I like the DIY rack . Is the center channel hanging from the mantle? I think that's the first pic I've seen of a Model 7075 "in the wild" - how do you like it?

Gooomz: That looks great! Very clean and nicely integrated into the room furnishings. I have no suggestions rearding aesthetics -- you've got that nailed. The only comment I have is regarding sonics: There are a lot of hard and reflective surfaces around the speakers. To the extent you don't mar the beauty of the room, you may benefit from some acoustical treatments. If it were me, it would be a tough call, as I wouldn't want to hang anything ugly on the wall to mop up reflections. However, a bass trap in the corner near the sub may help: http://www.atsacoustics.com/item--ATS-Acoustic-Panel-24x24x4--1007.html Longer term, I suspect you would benefit by adding an SMS-1 to your system, as your sub (like mine) is loaded into a corner. Great job!

Nice Job, Looks good, How does it sound? Have you used a RS meter to calibrate it yet? Don't be afraid to move your sub around either to find the best spot for it, of course it could be fine where it is at. good luck.

I'm glad you guys like it. The center channel is custom built into the fireplace. and you guys are right there is a lot of marble and hard surfaces in my room. My 7075 works great. Plenty of power in my large room 14x24x10 with opening on one side 14x11. In terms of adding that acousic treatment for my corner sub (I also have the 2 built in 8 in sub in the mains) if i just bought 1 or 2 of those ATS Treatments you recommend and either hang them in the corner over the 10in sub or just sit them on the sub itself will the difference in the quality of bass be that dramatic? How does acoustical treatment effect the sound in laymans terms? i don't want to hang anything from my ceiling. and i can't move the sub out of the corner because of multiple reasons. any other suggestions or thoughts?

Your best bet for controlling the sub would be with a product like the SMS-1 or a Behringer Feedbck Destroyer. This is probably a hack-job of an explanation, but the basis of putting acoustic panels would be to deaden reflections and/or standing waves in the corner, so the products would go on the walls, not the sub itself. The grandaddy of those products was the ASC tube trap (they're still around: http://www.acousticsciences.com/), but they kind of look like a giant roll of paper towels. So what would the benefits be? In terms of the sub anyway, if your response was anywhere like mine, you probably have a big bass hump somewhere in the region of 30 - 60Hz, which means you're getting boominess in the sub's response which, in turn, influences how seamlessly it integrates with your mains. With your mains, the panels from ATS placed behind the speakers would probably help any ringing problems from the marble. Problem is, it would f-up the look of that beautiful fireplace. But that may or may not be an issue for you. Do you have any hardness or is the room too "live" sounding? By that I don't mean like live music, but an echo chamber effect. Lastly, of the two acoustic treatment products, I think the ASC Tube Traps are more ideally suited for standing wave problems and use in corners.
