Hello,
Is there any Outlaw owners in the Tampa Bay Area ? Just wondering, I'm getting a replacement this week and wouldn't mind hearing someone else's setup.

Hi Jeff,

I went back and read your old post relating to bass trouble. Had a thought - was the tone set flat on the Sony?

If the Sony reciever had a 'loudness' circuit or other tom-foolery you might have become accustomed to that sound.

If you still have the Sony, maybe give it a listen with everything flat, or bypass engaged if possible?

My 1050 sounds great in stereo mode, although the amp section is just adequate. But adequate is all it takes, right? ;-)

Hi Charlie,
Yes you're right. The Sony had a Bass Boost button calld DBFB on it. I have grown very much to this. I have been paying attention to receivers for a long time now, and I know there were some 2 channel stereos within the last 10 years that didn't have the bass boot feature sound really good. Just don't understand why the Outlaw isn't like that. I've read tons of posts on here about how this receive just rocks their speakers. Just haven't seen it yet. If these people refer "rocking" to volume turned up loud as heck with a little bit of bass, then more power to them. I don't want boomy bass, just warm sound at low levels. Know what I mean ?

You could also try adjusting the bass/treble settings on the Outlaw to your liking.
