I have a 1070. Will I notice any difference in sound or video if I get a 975?

Well, Saturday I placed mine on a kitchen counter and turned it on - power button and remote both worked with on/off functions. Sunday evening, I removed my 950 from my equipment rack, removed its rack shelf, put in a smaller height shelf for the 975, put it in, hooked up the connections, the dim blue light around the power button came on, I pushed the button and...NOTHING! I tried the remote...NOTHING. Standby power is on, but full power and display do NOT come on. No full power :-( I'll call Outlaw to discuss and get return authorization. :-( THOUGHT: FedEx beat the crap out of the carton - worst condition I've ever received a carton from FedEx OR UPS. I'm sure mine won the "Toss the carton the farthest across the warehouse" award of the day. I'll go in and check for loose connectors on the leads from the torroid.

If you shut off the unit, does it pass through the last used HDMI source? Example: watching TV surround during the day and just want to watch the news at night without firing up the entire system via HDMI.

That is a nice feature, we use it all the time on our AVR. It would be nice to know if the 975 has it. Bob

There are quite a few people on here I trust and I have a question. While I was waiting on the 978, I purchased the Marantz SR5005 so I'd have HDMI switching(media room). I had the Outlaw 950 prior. I don't know that I've seen a good reason to buy the 975 to replace the SR5005 acting as a pre/pro. Is the musicality/movie dynamics better with the 975 than they are with the SR5005? I'm a firm believer in Outlaw products, I currently have the 7900 and LFM-1 EX and LFM-1 Plus(media room). I just don't want to buy, just to buy. I'm thinking it might be better to grab the OSB-1 sound bar for my equipment free room that has a 60" TV. Any thought's would be appreciated.

I just don't want to buy, just to buy. WHAT?? Are you kidding? That's heresy! Sorry, I have no useful input - haven't heard the SR5005 nor read its specs. Do you know what DAC's it uses?

Hank, no sir, I don't know what DAC's the SR5005 uses. I'll just wait on some more reviews and do some research. Do you know what DAC's the 975 uses?

woot... finally got FedEx to redirect my 975 to the office so I could actually get it... I feel the flu coming on for tomorrow Will get it setup as soon as I can and first thing I want to test is the pass-thru while shut off.

If the 975 has HDMI pass-thru I don't know how to get to it. I turn the unit off, the picture goes away.

it doesn't have stand-by pass-thru according to Outlaw. I was considering purchasing the 975, so I asked.
