I just installed an LG CF181D 1080 projector and I am using a Sony Blue Ray player....I have used a HDMI to DVI coupler to connect the BR to the 990 and the 990 to the projector. The projector tells me via an onscreen graphic that the image is 480....I have the BR player set to 1080 and the projector to auto to select the resolution...HELP....thanks

The 990 is strictly video passthrough and does not affect the signal. Check the BDP or the projector or the disc.

With a projector in the mix, you've got a very long cable run - you may want to use the simplest signal path possible and go straight from player to projector. Either way, the 990 is purely a switch, as XenonMan points out.

This sounds similar to my situation. So going this route removes the "video" processing responsibilities from the 990 correct? If so, is it as simple as connecting the long directly from the projector to the BDP and leave all other connections (audio) the same? Ok Ok Ok Ok!!! So if we took this route, do we now also have to go into the 990 and change any of the input configurations? Man this is driving me nuts!!!!

No,I don't know of any settings that would need to be changed as a result of eliminating video connections. Video connections need to be associated with audio inputs for switching purposes , but the audio processing is not influenced by the association.

As long as you associate the BDP audio output with the 990 input you should be able to run an HDMI cable from the BDP to the projector and either of the digital audio signals or the analog outputs to the 990. When watching a movie the audio would come through the 990 digital processing and the video through the BDP to the projector. I think if you want the newer codecs you will have to have the BDP process them to the 990 through the analog channels.
