Just received my OAW3. I was intrigued and purchased for a future Zone 2 application. However, I noticed the fact that I could stream music from my computer to my main system without wires! Set up was about as easy as it gets. Worked right out of the box and am now enjoying sitting at my desk listening to Pandora through my beloved PSB speakers instead of computer speakers or headphones. The flexibility is great and I did not notive any sound degradation at all. I wished this thing had come out before I built my theater room; I would have saved some money not running sub wires in the walls! Very satisfied at this point and will be trying it on a Zone 2 application soon.

I finally got a chance to put my OAW3 to use and I'm loving it. I did not run any conduit in the rear of my room for sub placement and when I decided to put in a third sub, I got lucky to see this item was released (nearly the same time). I put a third sub in today with the wireless adapter and it is performing well. I can't sense any degradation in the sound and as for today, it has work without a hiccup.
This saved me from having to run a new wire behind the walls!

I recently received my kit (one transmitter / two receivers). I am very impressed with quality and construction. Both transmitter and receivers are small for easy placement. The connections are all gold plate. If I had to rate this product it would prolly go 10 for 10.
I do not have high end equipment or high end test equipment but I am very much into HT and have been for awhile now. I use a PAA 2 to do my set up for speakers and/or subs and have always been happy with the results. I use two subs up front each having its own plate amp. Also I have two types of sub enclosures behind me with plate amps running them.
Upon arrival of the Outlaw kit, I started by simply unhooking the cable that sends the LFE signal to the front subs and connected the kit accordingly. Everything work correctly and the sound was amazingly clear with no interference. However I did register an average 5db loss across the board (20Hz to 100Hz) in output. I then removed the kit and reconnected it to the rear LFE hard line and tested the output from the rear subs. All testing showed a 5db drop in output (same as the front). This can be remedy by adjusting the gain on the receiver so to me this is not really that big of an issue.
By no means am I trying to discredit Outlaw or this device but simple want to let others know my results. As far as I am concern this device operates as describe and I would recommend it to any of my friends who want the easiest way to connect a sub to their HT with running a hard line.
If anyone would like more info please let me know.

I'm enjoying the Outlaw OAW-3 in my system. I'm using it to play music from my iTunes library on my laptop or internet radio to my 2.1 channel music set-up. I've been liking the results a lot so far. Now I've been spending too much time in other forums reading about higher-end USB cables and the sonic differences they are supposed to make. Has anyone used higher dollar USB cable with the OAW-3 and heard any difference? Here was one cable that I was reading about. Looks nice but even used it would be over $40 for a USB cable and then I would have to get the adapter. http://www.cryo-parts.com/index.php/usb-cables/cryopartsThanks

Me too. Don't believe the cable hocus-pocus. It will cost you $$$ you could better spend on music or Blu-rays. Being digital, either the ones and zeros are there or they're not.

Make it three. What the cable companies and some purists will have you believe is that "better" cables will give you a lower Bit Error Rate (BER). It's true that even digital signals can be corrupted by noise and as the BER goes up your Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) goes down. However for short runs at moderate data rates (like USB 2.0) this typically isn't a problem.
If you have some extra money sitting around you can purchase a USB Bit Error Rate Tester (BERT) for around $1000 and test your cables yourself. I wouldn't recomend it though, there's plenty of other cool things you could spend that money on.

Thanks you guys for the input. It is refreshing to get straight forward/honest answers and no BS. The debates on this rage in many other forums. Xenonman. You should see some of the marketing verbiage used regarding whether or not the 1's and 0's are there or not. http://www.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?cabldgtl&1313804973&/Wireworld-Ultraviolet-USB-1m-fThanks again everyone and it's back to enjoying the OAW-3 for me.
