My 990 is acting up and Outlaw is insisting that I update my firmware before returning the 990 for service (I am sure it is HW probs, but...)

I am trying to launch the .exe on my Win7 laptop (64bit) and I am getting a compatibility error...

I have searched the forum in vain...

Any experience out there?

Since I no longer have XP on machines, I am unable to use XP...

Have you tried launching it with "Run as administrator"? I've found that I need to do that with Win7 to get my URC MX remote software to run.

I use to be westlee44 years ago on the forum and i've returned wired up and finally ready to download the latest(ahem) firmware..Like the first poster i'm condemned to win/7 64. Running off a toshiba laptop...any advice on cabling...other than the null cable business???

I contacted cust. service and left a question about win/7 and the upgrade. I'll post their answer. I've had my 990 since 06 and I'm really curious to see how if affects aq. I got to hear my first sacds(dark side/tumbleweed) and I was just blown away by the oppo 93/990 combo...What??? It gets better???? Yay!
