Does anyone happen to know the location of the 950's IR sensor? I assume it is inside the front panel display somewhere. I need to stick a remote repeater on it.

I don't remember which side of the display it is on. I think I used a 1/4" mono cable from my IR distribution block to the rear panel IR input when I had mine, so I never had to attach an emitter on it. You could shine a flashlight at the front panel display - doing so should let you see the sensor behind the faceplate.

Thanks Gonk. Actually, I could have exactly done what you did in retrospect ! Hmmm - I'm too slow on the takeup as usual !
Anyhow, as soon as I got done sending this post, I thought I would just try moving the eye around until it worked and sticking it there. Found it easily - Central left side, as it happens.
I could not see the eye with a flash light as the plastic is just too dark, but on my DVD player I could. Found the Eye on my Cirrus ATT Uverse receiver the same way.

I'm off and running !
