Thanks. Yeah, I'm really happy with them. I'd have really liked to get into the 700 series, but funds would not allow it. I know there are better speakers out there but man they do sound good and you can really pump the sound out of them. cool

Right! Those thing is just insane lookin. My dealer had some 800's on the showroom. I was really surprised ho big they are. Massive. They had them on a full Classe setup. Talk about beautiful sound. Talk about out of my league...

You're right on the sound of the 604's though. I listen to a lot of Charlie Hunter. His 8-string makes the 604's shine. The self titled CD is all over the place. Serious lows, very nice mids, etc. If you've not given him a listen, I highly recomend it.

i'll try CHARLIE. strange how my dealer had 802's hooked up to a classe!i've tried lot's of different music(that i wouldn't normally listen to)under suggestion like:alicia keys,jewel,fionna apple(tidal)(if you haven't please i must insist!!!!,absolutely awesome(or beautiful???))(if you can dig the blues)
once again i am a metal head and i would rather crank up the infinities for metal, not to say the b&ws can't do it,but why waste them, right?

Have not listened to fionna apple, but I'll give her a try. If you're interested in C. Hunter, check out this link. You can download a couple of live albums from here. "Yoshi's Highlights" is very good, imho. Enjoy.

painttoad,
hope i'm not too late. i was going through my C. Hunter cd's and came to the conclusion that the cd titled "Duo" is a better starting place into his music and no less dynamic than the self titled CD. Please, check it out. Definitely worth while.

OK, I've a had a couple of upgrades since I last posted here. The upgrades are as follows:

  • Replaced Model 950 with Model 990
  • Added rear surrounds and Parasound HCA-750 to pwer them.
  • Replaced Hitachi 57S500 RPTV with Panny PT-AE900U projector and 92" DIY screen. (I made the projector mount too.)
  • Tweaked HSU VTF3-MKII sub by installing a dimmer on the lit logo on the front. This way I can put it where it sounds the best without being blinded by the distracting light.
  • Painted the room. (Light gray walls were killing my black level.)

I think that about does it. Here's a link to a site I threw up real quick today. The screen shots are pretty dark (stupid digital camera..) so a lot of the detail is lost in black. It doesn't look that way in person.... Also, check out my DIY proj. mount. I can't take credit for the design, but I did make some modifications to better route the cables. I also made my own screen. I may end up buying a real one, but this one seems to be working quite well. By making my own mount and screen I saved myself about 900 clams. Enjoy.
