I just got the power conditioner and I'd like to set it up so my 1070 and FIOS box are always on but everything else is switched on when the receiver comes on. So I got I mono dubbing cable at Radio Shack, but no joy.

I checked the voltage coming from the 1070 and it appears to be 2.8 to 3 v, although my recollection from shop class a very long time ago was that I actually need a little load in the circuit when I test, but I don't have a good way to do that. So I plugged the trigger cable into the PF60 and put a 9v battery into the circuit with the tester, and still no joy.

Before I call Belkin or return the PF60 is there something I'm missing?

Have you changed the settings on the Belkin? You've got to push a front panel button on it to enable the trigger. I've had to re-set this control a number of times after power outages.

I have tried that several times, including pulling the plug and then setting it. Today I'm going to pull the plug and let it sit for a while before I plug it in again to see if that works.

An update is in order, along with a warning. As I said previously, I tried two Radio Shack mono dubbing cables and neither worked. Yesterday I talked to Belkin tech support, and the guy mentioned that the 110v AC trigger used the same basic circuit as the 12v DC trigger. So I found a power cord with the appropriate terminator and plugged it into a wall outlet. Lo and behold, the trigger worked as designed.

So I liberated a piece of cable with a 1/8" phone plug from a dead microphone I had lying around. When I used a 9v battery it worked as well. So I went back to Radio Shack and swapped the second dubbing cable for a couple of 1/8" phone plugs and dragged out the soldering iron. I'm much better at sweat soldering than at using a soldering iron, but when I was done the PF60 was talking to my 1070 with no problems.

Beware of Radio Shack.

FWIW, I'm using a RS mono cable for the DC trigger from my DHC-9.9 to the PF 60 with no problems. Programming the appropriate PF 60 banks for "switched", with delays for the amps, allows one button ON/OFF control for the DHC-9.9, TV, DVD,CD, and 3 power amps. Cable box uses an "unswitched" bank.

Just in the interest of being fair to RS, I've never had a problem with anything I've bought from them....quite a lot of stuff over 30 yrs.
