I understand that by setting my rear speakers to "dipole" the preamp automatically defaults the "distance" from the listening area equal to those of the front. I assume this is because the preamp will automatically adjust the time delay for the signal to the rear speakers...

if I actually enter a exact distance to the rear speakers, am I required to set a delay for those speakers becuase the preamp will not do it automatically? the overall difference in distance beteen fronts/center and rears is about 14 feet to 15 feet.

In some articles that I have recently read the rule of thumb for setting delays suggest the fronts set to approx 25 while the rears / surrounds are set to approx 15.

perhaps its really not all that important???
