The Model 978 will have Audyssey of some form, not Trinnov. In both cases, though, the bigger question will be how many channels of D/A conversion will be supported. The AV7005, for example, has pre-outs for 11 channels (including height channels and "wide" channels), but only eight channels of DAC's. As a result, the room correction only has to operate with seven speakers and a sub at any given time.
I guess I am missing something. I thought the entire purpose of 9.x or 11.x was to convert a smaller number of discrete via processing into a 9.x or an 11.x output. It would seem that if you only have 8 DACs and one is for the sub, then at most you are getting is 7 channels with no wide or height processing occuring.
