The workaround is to get a player with multichannel analog output and onboard decoding for DTS-HD and TrueHD. There are a number of examples from Panasonic, Sony, and others, but if you look at my
BDP-83 setup guides you will get the general idea. Those guides can also be applied to the
BDP-80 as well as the
BDP-83; other players will have different setup menus and are likely to use different names for the settings.
