Gonk I see you have the codes for a 990, but how do I get them into my URC MX 880? thanks

The MX-880 software is the newer style, I think. If the Model 990 isn't in their current IR database, you should be able to find something similar to the "universal browser" (the name they used in the old software) that will let you open the MX-700 file.

It has the 950 preamp but not the 990. I don't know if the codes are the same???

Most of the codes will be the same, but not all of them. You can also learn any codes directly from the 990's remote (which is how I usually handle it).

I got the Harmony One today setup is pretty easy, and the software is great. Not as well built as the MX models but it will do. And it has all the codes for everything I own, including my Sangean WI FI radio...

I just went from using URC remotes (MX500, 700, 850) for years to a Harmony One. Much better software and the database for codes is fantastic.

The biggest downside for the URC remotes was keeping the database up to date and their insane policy about only allowing "professional" to get access to their software. I loved my URC remotes but time to move on.

yes you would think URC would wake up and make some great software, and they are pretty snotty over the phone too, unless you are a professional installer.
