I just picked up a 990. I have a Emotiva XPA 3 amp and the sound is great. The remote is crap. Can you recommend a Universal Remote that will work with this unit?

Harmony One

Any Harmony or URC remote will work nicely. The Model 990 is in the Harmony database, and there are files available here and elsewhere for some URC remotes like the MX-700.

Thanks Guys, I really like the Universal Remote Control MX series, they are well built. Wish the 990 came with one like my old 1050 did. I am looking at the URC MX 880.

The 1050, 1070, 970, 990, and RR2150 have all used different forms of a UEI remote, the Catalyst48. Only the Model 950 had a URC remote. The 950's modified SL9000 was a pretty nice remote, but I really became comfortable with URC's products when I got an MX-500. (the SL9000 didn't separate transport controls from navigation buttons, which was a pretty significant flaw when dealing with DVD players.) I looked at the MX-810 when I got my MX-900 two years ago, but preferred the older software. The MX-880 looks like a nice one.
