My 970 became quiet one terrible night a while ago, but I'm glad to report that I am a happy customer after all is said and done. I did have to send my unit in for service(shit does happen), but I had quick response with a simple confirmation of my info I was sending my head-unit in in fast time. And then to my joy I got a call from a human! He asked me all about my situation and what steps I had taken this far and was able to fix things fast because he wasn't guessing from the limited info a online report, further more he realized I'm not the average clueless Joe and he was making educated decisions from the actual info he got from me! Isn't that fresh? WOW!

Seriously, Outlaw was the best customer service experience I have had in a long time. Thanks!

Kudos to team at Outlaw Audio!!....And to my tech Jim, unfortunately I didn't catch his last name. That guy gets a pat on the back and a beer if I should ever find myself in New England.

/cheers

Looks like my problem is back. The last week or 2 it wont play anything when first turned on unless I turn it off and back on again...and it simply has audio sometimes, others not, with cutting in and out before it goes. No rhyme or reason I can see. I now have an Oppo player too, so I can switch from all digital input to analog, with the exact same problem. I think Ive got a lemon. i cant figure out whats worse, being without my stereo AGAIN (this burns because my stereo is my primary entertainment when Im relaxing at home) or spending money to ship it right back to New England.

Ironically, I was listening to Wilco the first time this happened, and the other night I was listening to Wilco again when it started cutting out. I guess its programmed to react to music it doesnt like?

To top off my frustration, I had friends over last night and I couldnt play music which made me angy! We got together just to listen to a new album....>:^(

Sounds like it didn't get fixed the whole way the first time around. Outlaw may foot the bill for the second repair since it is the same problem again. Sounds like a loose wire or a solder joint opening up. Does the headphone outlet work at all.

Good question, I really dont use them much. Next time Im struggling Ill try the HPs. It reminds me of driving a V8, when its cold it runs like crap, but once you warm her up she sounds wicked good.

My 970 is back! Something is different!? I have changed nothing except a new set of speaker cables, yet the sound is noticeable better. I have everything hooked up the same, yet the sound is more clear and detailed, and the imaging is incredible, and my sub even seems cleaner. Im not a believer that cables making a difference this huge, Jim fixed something. I did notice that as soon as I hooked up my video feed from my PC the 970 displayed it instantly instead of having a slight delay as it did before...I dont know yet, but something is different. I just got it yesterday, time will tell....

Thank God its back, I missed my 970!!
