Just got a Pioneer BDP320 BR player and hooked up my analog audio outs to my 950.All channels play except my left rear surround.Tried a different cable and was sure it was the players fault but then took the lr suround out from the Pioneer and connected to the 950 rr surround in and was good.
The player is sending the lr signal and is fine but the outlaw not sending it to my speaker.Tried the unplug for five minutes then got the paper clip out for full system reset but no go.Checked menu and all settings correct. All speakers work fine with digital out from Pioneer.
Any ideas?

When you say "left rear surround" do you mean "left side surround"? I ask because the Model 950 has a 5.1 analog input, meaning the multichannel analog input doesn't support the rear surround channels - just fronts, center, sub, and side surrounds - and there are very few discs that actually offer 6.1 or 7.1 tracks. If you connected the rear surround outputs from the player to the (side) surround inputs, you may not get much content.

If you do mean side surrounds, I'd suggest connecting a known and trusted input (center or a front channel) to each of the 5.1 analog input's connections and determine if they are all working. Be sure to use a disc that you know is providing content for that channel. A calibration disc like Digital Video Essentials would have channel test tones that could work for this, or you could use a left or right output and a CD.

Hi Gonk, thanks for responding and yes it is the left side surround and I did test all and actually found all the analog outputs are working except the aforementioned left side surround and also the sub analog out.Puzzling and I am clueless as to why as they were all working the last time I used them with my old Pioneer 59avi playing a DVD audio disc a while back.
By the way you hear this all the time but thanks for your time and effort for your AV help and insight over the years!

Actually the analog sub out my 950 is working fine
but my left surround is still MIA.Called outlaw today and spoke to Scott, nice guy and very helpful but looking like might have to send it in.
Still sounds great with just the digital optical and DTS.Wondering if it is worth it,are the HD sound formats that much better?

Well after waiting for my 950 to fix itself
I decided to send it to Outlaw for service.
Considering it does everything I need it to do
with BR,DVD and CD's really well thanks to it's
analog section with bass management I think it was the right call.
Anyway thanks Gonk for trying to help me out and
I will report back when I hear from Outlaw as to what fixed it.

I got my 950 back from Outlaw and have been using it
for about a week now and everything works fine.
Outlaw was able to fix it and get it back sooner than
there time estimate and the cost was at the low end of
the estimate.
The repairs involved replacing a part in the multi channel
input circuit,a part in the power supply circuit and replacement
of the power transformer. The volume control was refurbished and they resoldered some connections at the power supply and on switch. All of this for seventy five bucks.
All in all an excellent service experience and well worth
the cost of the repair, thanks Outlaw!
