Any "real" differences regarding features or quality? I'll never understand why the same company makes 2 different products that compete against one another at almost the same price point, besides possibly the "boutique" factor. With separate websites, it is also hard to compare. So anyone with experience researching these, or owning them, have a "quick list" of key differences?
I'd jump on the 9.9 at this price, but am unsure about the Onkyo, especially at it's price point compared to the 9.9.
Thanks.

It is my understanding that the Onkyo Pro is not a retail store item, and is sold through specialty distributors and installers; the Integra is, of course, their boutique line. Past that, it's got a different face and ears, and that's it.

OK, after A-B'ing these pics, the only differences I see in the back panels are that the Integra has Sirius, XM, and HD radio capabilities, and the Onkyo does not. Otherwise, they look identical. The 886 and the 9.9 are functionally identical. They both have the HD radio and XM/Sirius capability . Quoting from the outlaw PR-886 page: The Onkyo Professional PR-SC886 also offers HD Radio™ reception, as well as compatibility with both XM® Satellite Radio and SIRIUS™ Satellite Radio. http://www.outlawaudio.com/products/886.html The differences are the cosmetics and the longer warranty on the Integra.

So basically you are paying $350 more for 1 more year of warranty and 1 "pure mode"? Seriously? This still baffles me. Why offer, on Onkyo's end, both products then?

Originally posted by gonk: No, you are paying more for one more year and one less mode (the 9.8 lacked the mode that the 885 offered, and I think the 9.9 and 886 are the same way). Seriously. They offer it because Integra is their premium line, sold direct to consumers through dealers or custom installers, and I believe that there are some restrictions about selling Integra at all over the internet. The 886, on the other hand, is an "Onkyo Professional" product that is supposedly only being sold to commercial dealers for use in commercial installations (business, education, etc.). Interesting.........(twiddles fingers)! Thanks for the info and clarification Gonk. I had never heard of the Onkyo "pro products" before this. Integra, however, I was well aware of. Can that second HDMI "out" be used as a "zone" output?
