Currently I have a 990 and the SMS1 working together. I am planning on replacing the 990 as soon as the 997 comes out. (Having some video out issues with the 990)

Will I still need the SMS1 or will the new Trinnov Optimizer do the trick?

It's hard to say since we haven't heard Trinnov yet, but I am probably going to try the 997 without the SMS-1 and see how it works that way.

I sold my SMS-1 while value was still decent with this in mind.... I'm sure Trinnov will have some base management just like all the new fancy EQs do.
