It would be nice to have a variable phase shift for the subwoofer to help those without 0-360 adjustments to dial in the crossover point.

Thanks.

Would the Trinnov Optimizer take care of that?

Not sure, but it would still be nice to be user adjustable.

I'd never thought of this - it's not a feature I've seen before, except for on my SMS-1, but it could be pretty convenient...

Since you can set the distance for the speakers (including sub), the processor will impart a digital delay. For most applications, this will insert the phase delay you need to keep all the wavefronts aligned at the listening position.

Where it gets tricky is bypass, pure, or direct mode. If that truly bypasses all internal processing then the sub would be on its own for phase control. The only way to know for sure is to use measurement software and do some before and after with impulse or time-energy plots to see if the sub and mains are aligned.

This brings up a good point - if the phase adjustment is done in the digital domain (which I think is a safe assumption), you would lose that adjustment when in an analog bypass condition.

That is what I do now is adjust the distance for the sub to increase or decrease the distance. Just thought it would be a little easier for folks and a great feature to use a phase shift instead, since there are a lot more DIY passive subs driven by pro amps with no phase switch at all.
