OTOH if mfrs were to eliminate many there is still a work-around by "outboarding" with a legacy-type switcher such as this one:
..which I do use for some things. So as long as we have something to I/O to and from we'll (I'll) be ok. Also patchbays, but as discussed in previous posts not for everybody. And...gotta have an understanding wife.
