In need of a small sub to augment low freq when using my Von Schweikert VR-1 monitors which reach 55 hertz. This is a 2.1 system only, 80% for audio use. Now here's the kicker, the room is 20x17 with 11" ceiling. There is an 8' opening into another room. The floor is hardwood. Realize that with these characteristics a 12 or larger sub is common, but space a concern with this room. Can products such as the LFM-1 compact or ML Dynamo offer just the right bass to satisfy those recordings that require sub 50 hertz listening. AVR is NAD, CD is CA Azur, Table is Transcriptor. Thanks in advance for your comments.

Well this is a late response, but I too have a large room with 16' vaulted ceiling. I am going to purchase the compact over the LFM-1, so I will let you know how it works.

P.S. per Gonk he recommends the LFM-1 for our room size, but I suspect the compact will work fine for your music, and mine is mainly for movies since I have towers.

A quick follow up if you still need one. The compact is working fine for my bass needs, no windows shaking just a nice fill in.
I have not turned it up past 12 o'clock yet, and if I needed more bass for a concert dvd, I have actually turned the bass up on the 990 to give a bit more to the towers.
