B-stock 7900 on the way. Upgrading from a 7125... if anyone in the RTP area wants to test the limits of this bad boy (I can't yet -- in an apartment), send me a PM.

Good gracious - that's a serious purchase there, lanion. Be curious to hear your impressions of the monster...

Well, I am a high school science teacher after all. I have to keep my priorities straight.

Summers are about 50% off. But that is debatable. I for one am happy with my pay.

Anyway, money going toward escapism is very important to me.

Very Early Impressions:

1. Best Binding Posts I have had the pleasure of working with.

2. Really Incredibly Heavy.

3. Quite a bit better sound quality than the RR2150 for 2 channel when using the RR2150 as a pre and the 7900 as the external amp. This is driving some Tyler Acoustic Linbrook Signature speakers. Sounded *very* good.

No big HT test yet, sorry. When I get the chance I will post that.

Sound is quite an improvement over the 7900. I can keep turning up the volume to my Polk LSi speakers and it keeps sounding great now matter how high I got -- no distortion ever, at least not before volumes I can't tolerate.

Edit: Sound is a big improvement over my old 7125, which is amazing in its own right, especially for the price.
