Exactly - when the amp is in the equipment rack, the channel labeled "L" is closest to the left speaker, which means that speaker wires are going to do less criss-crossing of each other. It may seem backwards when looking at the rear panel, but it is actually the best choice for laying out the rear panel. (Of course, laying out the rear panel in this case amounts to some silkscreening since all seven amp channels are identical.)
