Turning on the 7700

Hi all,
I got a 7700 a couple months ago, and have a question about the power-on process.
Whether turning on from the button in the front (Manual On -- according to the manual) or from the 12v trigger (Automatic On), the behavior looks about the same: the standby-red LED continues to glow on the power button for about 20ish seconds, then there are some relay clicks and the power button turns blue.
This all seems as expected, and the manual says that "This pause is intentional, and it protects your speakers from damage while the amplifier stabilizes."
However -- the amp is amplifying audio during this time. Anything sent from the pre-amp is amplified and sent to the speakers. That doesn't sound like much of a preventative measure. I thought the goal was the mute the amp until it stabilized?
Is this normal? Shouldn't it be muted until the amp has stabilized?
Thanks!

I have a 7500 which does a similar startup routine. It has seemed a bit strange but I had a conversation which Scott at Outlaw and their engineers seemed to think it was odd also.

On my 970/7500 combo, when I power on the system I get a relay click at about 2-3 seconds, audio at about 8 seconds, and then another click and the amp power button turns blue at about 30 seconds.

My 7700 also outputs a signal to the speakers for the 30 seconds or so while the red light is on. Then, the blue light comes on, but in terms of what is coming out of the speakers, there is not any difference between red light operation and blue light operation. I am using the 12V trigger to power the 7700 on.

It is normal response for the 7500/7700. I went so far as to replace the amps controller with exactly the same results. It seems to be the normal startup routine.
