Has anybody had any experience running a 7500 with a two amp load?
I am thinking about experimenting with a pair of 4 ohm speakers, wired in parallel, for my center channel just for the heck of it but I don't want to take a chance of damaging my 7500.

Maybe wiring in series would be a better bet.

I was going to try that this weekend.
I would really like to compare parallel and series and see if there is any difference in sound though.
I will call Outlaw and see what they say.

I'm curious what Outlaw had to say about using a 2-ohm load. Beyond stability issues, that's a big increase in output current, and unless you're really careful about how high the volume control gets cranked, you risk blowing the power amp, either output transistors or the power supply. I have used parallel-connected speakers in a center channel before for the 6 dB of additional output this provides, but my setup used 8-ohm speakers. Unless you are looking for the extra output of a parallel connection, a series connection of the 4-ohm speakers is much safer. Sound quality should not differ between a series and parallel connection, although you could experience some noticeable sound difference between a single and dual speakers due to comb filtering between the two speakers depending on their location to one another.

Scott said that the 7500 can 2 ohm loads but when you parallel 2 4 ohm speakers the impedance can drop below the 2 ohm level but he also said that the 7500 could handle as much as a 1.8 ohm load.
The speakers that I was playing with had the potential to hit 1.6 ohms so I just wired them in series to see how they sounded.

I run Polk LSI speakers in parallel with my much less beefy RR2150... in parallel they will drop down to 1.5ohms. I don't crank it and it hasn't been an issue with overheating.

The impedence ratings for my Logans are nominal 4ohm with minimal 1.2ohm. I've not had issues with overheating on my 7500.
