I was moving stuff around to install laminate flooring and used a dolly to move the 7500. It is my baby. I gave it two small scratches! My question, #1 how easy is it to replace the face plate and #2 how much would the face plate cost?

I am so ashamed and yet I know my anal side will look at that tiny scratch for life!!!

Judging from Edcon\'s 7500 pics , you'd at least be looking at pulling the cover off and then removing some pins or screws at four corner posts - probably not a hugely complex process. It's hard to tell whether the power button connects to the chassis or the face plate, which would be the only real concern I'd have. Either way, the best bet is probably to give the Outlaw's a phone call.

unfortunately the putting in of my floor and installing of my french doors is taking much more time that I anticipated. I don't think I shall be able to call Outlaw until next week. Still, I have a funny idea that rivets might be involved. Anyhow, if soldering is involved, I don't do that.

It's hard to tell for certain, but I can't spot any conclusive evidence of rivets in Edcon's pictures (and I suspect that screws would provide a tighter join that's less likely to rattle than rivets when securing something as heavy as the 7500's face). Let us know how it goes, and I suspect some folks would be interested to see pictures of the process if you do end up swapping out the faceplate.

^^ you are probably right. As for opening the thing up, I don't want to void any warranties.

It's maddening I know...Maybe time will heal the wound. I suppose if warranty is an issue you shouldn't do it youself. Good luck with it.
