I got the 970/7125 combo in December and am really loving it but a larger than expected bonus from work and tax return have me thinking about maybe selling the 7125 and upgrading to the 7500. I have not seen any one who has upgraded that has the 970 and I was wondering if any one else who has the 970 had made this leap. Even if you have the 990 any input about the improvment that the 7500/7700 has brought your system over the 7125 would be greatly appreciated.

As much as anything, it depends on what kind of speakers you have (how efficient?), how big the room is, and of course, how LOUD do you play your system?

Let me know if you are going to sell that! I'm waiting for a used or bstock 7125 to jump.

I have the 990 but I'm guessing the difference of upgrading the amp will be similar. And that difference, at least in my case, is pretty dramatic. I'm running Axiom M80v2's right now (still in the 30 day "try em and if you don't like em send em back" phase) and they really came to life with the extra power. They are 4 ohm speakers and love the power (300 watts at 4 ohms). The extra "juice" has definitely had an impact in the sound quality. Much fuller and richer with 2 channel music which is mostly what I'm using at this point because I didn't yet go for the whole Axiom HT package. Really punched up the midrange and lower end as I suspected it would. Long story short, I'm glad I upgraded from the 7125.

And Ianion, I'm guessing there will be quite a bit of 7125 "B" stock available in the near future. I sent my 7125 back to Outlaw via UPS yesterday.

Regards.

anyone else who has mad the switch have any opinions on if the 7500 will be a worth while upgrade. I really enjoy what the 7125 has done in my system but would love to upgrade to the 7500 but reading some of the recent post about hum and grounding issues kind of has me a little worried. Right now my 970/7125 combo is dead quiet and trying to figure out a grounding issue to get rid of hum in my speakers doesnt sound like a fun proposition at this point considering that I will have to go through the trouble of selling the 7125 on ebay and losing a couple hundred bucks then paying $500 more to get the 7500. Any more input from some folks who have upgraded or just got a 7500 would help abunch in the decision makeing proccess. Thanks
