The specs look great on these amps (0.03% THD!!!), but $1,000 is a big jump up from the 990/7125 combo, no?

Well, that $1000 adds 525W (75W/channel) and a fully balanced topography - it's a jump, but it's a jump that give you something in return.

I agree the specs look great on paper. Fully balanced throughout is surprising and welcome. As an audiophile and an EE I'd like to know some other details as well. Type of power supply, Biasing (class A/AB, etc.). I do a lot of 2 channel listening, and I will be replacing some Adcom amps with these, so sonics are utmost important. As I mentioned in a post on the 2200 forum, I'm not a fan of class G or H so these new amps sound like what I might want. Also they will go nicely with my 990.

What does the 7125 have? I have an Adcom 545II 2chX100w Class A amp I use for the front 2 speakers. I was thinking about replacing this amp and the Adcom 7400 with the Outlaw 7125.

The Adcom 545II is not a Class A amplifier. Not knocking it, I own Adcoms and like them.

The 7125, like all of Outlaw's multichannel amps, is class A/B.

The Adcom is A/B also.

General rule of thumb:

If you can cook your breakfast on it when listening at even moderate levels, it's probably class A. 8-)

I am eagerly awaiting a few independent reviews. If Outlaw is true to form, the reviews should be very good!!

I agree. Far better to wait for these than to throw money at the 2200's.

If you are looking for reviews of the 7500/7700 take a look at the ATI 2005/2007. After review of the specs and features of the ATI you should find some similarities with the new Outlaws.
