The specs look great on these amps (0.03% THD!!!), but $1,000 is a big jump up from the 990/7125 combo, no?

I agree the specs look great on paper. Fully balanced throughout is surprising and welcome. As an audiophile and an EE I'd like to know some other details as well. Type of power supply, Biasing (class A/AB, etc.). I do a lot of 2 channel listening, and I will be replacing some Adcom amps with these, so sonics are utmost important. As I mentioned in a post on the 2200 forum, I'm not a fan of class G or H so these new amps sound like what I might want. Also they will go nicely with my 990.

I have an Adcom 545II 2chX100w Class A amp I use for the front 2 speakers. I was thinking about replacing this amp and the Adcom 7400 with the Outlaw 7125.

The Adcom 545II is not a Class A amplifier. Not knocking it, I own Adcoms and like them.

The Adcom is A/B also.
General rule of thumb:
If you can cook your breakfast on it when listening at even moderate levels, it's probably class A. 8-)

I am eagerly awaiting a few independent reviews. If Outlaw is true to form, the reviews should be very good!!

I agree. Far better to wait for these than to throw money at the 2200's.

If you are looking for reviews of the 7500/7700 take a look at the ATI 2005/2007. After review of the specs and features of the ATI you should find some similarities with the new Outlaws.

Anyways, the 990/7700 combo at $2900 is more than I can do, so was thinking about the 990/7125. All my speakers are B&W. On the top post, it says "Follow-up details on the Model 990/7125 promotion will be forthcoming as will the Model 7700/7500 product pages." So does that mean the pricing of the 990/7125 combo will change up/down? The B&W speakers are 100-125W max, so 200W amp is overkill. Also, all my interconnects are good MIT (rca type), so no need to change over to balanced. Other than the power and inputs, I wondwer if there would be a noticable difference in the sound quality the 7700 produces over the 7125.

Sounds like the 990/7125 might be just what the doctor ordered for your speakers.
Cheers,

FAUguy, just a note, too much power is better than not enough.b&w 602s are rated at 125w/rms(i think),but that little bird was talking and told me they can handle 1000w CLEAN POWER short term.don't know what speakers u r running but 602s are 3rd from bottom of the line.

Are we sure that these new amps with be made by ATI? Outlaw has used a number of different builders for their gear.

ratpack,
Compare the specs for the 2000 amp in the ATI 3000/2000 Manual and the specs in the 7500/7700 manual. The manuals themselves are very similar too. Also, look at the diagram of the back panels for these amps. Outlaw has not confirmed it, but I don't think there is much doubt that ATI is building the 7500 and the 7700. That fact is terrific.

they are made by ati. i want to know if the new amps are in fact IDENTICAL (electronically) to their ATI equivalents? in the past, they were not, as the ATI were fully differential drive and balanced. now the new outlaws are as well. if the ONLY difference is cosmetic, then they are a true bargain.
The (outlaw7700) ATI 2007, which i own and am very pleased with, retails for 3k. of course, this may simply be the difference between direct mail and brick and mortar retail costs.
